Prepare your NetSuite integrations now for the end of SOAP and TBA

Oracle NetSuite is gradually phasing out the use of SOAP Web Services and Token-based Authentication (TBA). Starting with NetSuite release 2027.1, you will no longer be able to build new SOAP integrations, and TBA will no longer be accepted for new integrations. OAuth 2.0 will become the new authentication standard. From release 2028.2, NetSuite will disable SOAP completely. Organisations with existing NetSuite integrations should therefore start checking now which integrations will be affected.

What changes with NetSuite release 2027.1?

The first major changes take effect with release 2027.1, which is expected in spring 2027. From that point onwards, new integrations can no longer be built using SOAP. NetSuite will also stop accepting TBA for new integrations. New integrations will therefore need to use the new standard, with OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication.

When will NetSuite stop supporting SOAP completely?

The next important deadline is NetSuite release 2028.2, expected in autumn 2028. From that release onwards, SOAP will be disabled completely. If you still have an active NetSuite integration that depends on SOAP at that point, it will no longer be able to continue operating in the same way. It is therefore important to identify well before this deadline which integrations still use SOAP and what changes will be required.

Which NetSuite integrations could be at risk?

Every NetSuite environment is different. Many organisations have built up a range of integrations with NetSuite over the years. Some of these may still use SOAP, TBA or a combination of both technologies. Without an inventory, it is often difficult to immediately determine which integrations will be affected by the changes. So do not focus only on new integrations, but also consider existing integrations that may have been running quietly in the background for years.

What can you do now to prepare your NetSuite environment?

The first step is not to immediately rebuild every integration, but to identify which integrations you have, which technology they use and when action is required. Based on this overview, you can determine which integrations need to be updated, which ones have the highest priority and how much time will be required. Because updating and testing integrations takes time, carrying out an early assessment helps prevent multiple migrations from having to be completed at the same time just before a NetSuite deadline.
