Cadran Project Highlighted in Logistics: Interface Harmonizes Globally with ERP and WMS
Interface, a manufacturer of carpet tiles, has embarked on an extensive project to harmonize business processes worldwide. The project involves implementing Oracle JD Edwards ERP, upgrading the warehouse management system (WMS), adjusting transportation software, and expanding a distribution center. Despite a thorough approach, the initial phases of the project faced some challenges.
Interface focuses exclusively on the commercial market in Europe. The European headquarters in Scherpenzeel plays a central role in production and delivery within the region. The goal of this project is to establish consistent processes globally and improve workflows that are not yet process-driven.
Rob Heeres, Director of European Planning & Distribution at Interface, oversees a significant portion of the project. Previously, Heeres managed production operations. The first phase of the project, the order-to-cash system (O2C), has already been successfully implemented. The next step involves deploying software for the production environment, which will also serve as a blueprint for future rollout at a production facility in the United States.
“There’s no point in reinventing the wheel,” says Heeres.
