France takes the next step in E-Invoicing: What does this mean for JD Edwards?

The digitalisation of invoicing in Europe continues to accelerate. After the introduction of the Peppol requirement in Belgium, France is also taking an important step. From 1 September 2026, all companies established in France and subject to VAT must be able to receive electronic invoices. From that same date, large companies and mid-sized companies (ETIs) must also issue electronic invoices. For SMEs and micro-enterprises, this requirement will follow on 1 September 2027.
For organisations using JD Edwards and doing business in France, now is a good moment to assess whether their invoicing processes are ready for these new requirements.
France also introduces e-reporting
France is also introducing e-reporting for transactions that do not fall under mandatory domestic B2B e-invoicing, such as B2C transactions and cross-border transactions.
What this means for JD Edwards users
Do you use JD Edwards and have an entity in France, or are you VAT-registered there? Then it is important to prepare for the new requirements in good time.
Organisations doing business with French entities from other European countries are also increasingly facing new requirements around electronic invoicing and data exchange. The further harmonisation of e-invoicing across Europe makes a future-proof solution increasingly important.
With an integrated e-invoicing solution, you can:
- meet current and future e-invoicing requirements;
- automatically send and receive electronic invoices from JD Edwards;
- process invoice statuses directly within your ERP;
- reduce manual work and errors;
- prepare for additional reporting requirements in different countries.
One solution for multiple countries
French legislation shows that e-invoicing is continuing to develop across Europe. Belgium, France, Poland, Germany and other countries are each introducing their own regulations, with different technical requirements and implementation models.
That is why it is important to choose a solution that grows with these developments, so you do not have to start a separate implementation project for every country.
