JD Edwards 9.2 new functionality: goods management in transit

Oracle has added a new functionality in JD Edwards 9.2: In Transit Inventory. This feature allows you to register goods during transport without requiring a license for Transportation Management.
How Does the Process Work?
Many companies find that they can only invoice customers once the delivery of goods is confirmed. This period, between shipment and receipt, can take up to 60 days. This means that as a supplier, you cannot recognize revenue until the customer has accepted the goods.
During this transit period, the legal ownership of the goods remains with you as the supplier. The value of the goods stays on your balance sheet until the customer confirms delivery. Only after receipt and acceptance by the customer can you issue an invoice and complete the sales record. At that point, ownership is officially transferred to the customer.
Important:
This functionality is only available in JD Edwards version 9.2. If you are working with an older version but still want to use In Transit Inventory, for example, for exports to China, JD Edwards Transportation Management offers a solution. A similar functionality is also available in this system.
