Your JD Edwards environment, implemented in 5 steps

Phase 1: JD Edwards Pre-implementation

In the first phase, we determine the boundaries of the project together with your core users. To do this, we use standard templates, with which we quickly get a complete picture of the project. Using a risk analysis, we then expose the ‘sensitive areas’ within the project, so that we can remove them in time. Together with your project manager, we draw up a detailed project plan. This project plan also includes a time schedule.

Phase 2: JD Edwards Training

Many of our customers choose to have their core users actively participate in the setup of the Oracle JD Edwards system. In order to involve these users in the implementation efficiently, it is important that they receive proper training. During these training sessions the users learn how to use Oracle JD Edwards optimally. Cadran can provide standard or tailor-made training courses in the fields of finance, distribution, production and technology.

Phase 3: JD Edwards Analysis

We then analyze the processes that should be supported by Oracle JD Edwards. We will carry out this analysis in a workshop environment. We will use standard questionnaires which we have developed for this analysis. Our consultants will use the results of this analysis, to create an initial outline for the global configuration of your JD Edwards system. They will do this together with your core users. Once this outline is complete, we can test and demonstrate it extensively. Once we have agreed on the design and operation of the system, we can configure and set up the software.

Phase 4: JD Edwards Configuration

In the Configuration phase, we set up the final production environment and write the documentation for end users. In addition, end users are trained and the system is extensively tested. The business data from your old system can now be converted from the old system (or systems) to your new Oracle JD Edwards environment. If required, we can create additional reports or screens using the ‘toolset’ provided. When we’ve finished the configuration of your system, we will give the green light to the actual implementation of your new ERP system!

Phase 5: Go live

Together we have determined the scope of the project, your staff has been trained, and the system has been configured and set up. In the Go Live phase, your organization can start working with the system for the first time in a ‘live’ environment. The last data from the previous system will be transferred to Oracle JD Edwards and we will carry out the necessary completeness checks. It goes without saying that our consultants will also provide extensive support to your end users during the first real use of Oracle JD Edwards.
