What will you do?

As a Finance Controller, you are the financial conscience of our organization. You translate data into insights, create clarity in a dynamic environment and ensure that management always knows where we stand and where we are heading.

Your responsibilities

  • End responsibility for the complete financial administration
    • Safeguarding financial processes and optimizing the use of the ERP system to improve organizational insight
    • End responsibility for timely and accurate payroll administration and salary payments
    • End responsibility for tax filings and compliance with fiscal legislation
    • Acting as a hands-on team lead within the finance team
  • Business strategy: Budgeting and Planning
    • Responsible for financial planning and budgeting as of October 1
    • Responsible for the annual budget as of December 1
    • Collecting budgets from various back-office departments (IT, HR, Marketing) and Business Units
    • Consolidating outcomes into a coherent and balanced financial plan
    • Acting as a sparring partner for management
  • Periodic closings
    • Delivering timely and high-quality monthly and annual closings as the basis for financial reporting for all entities within the group
    • End responsibility for preparing monthly balance files as input for year-end delivery to the external accountant
  • Business Reporting
    • Preparing financial reports for Business Reviews, Board Reviews and Joint Management Meetings based on agreed templates
    • Analyzing and explaining variances between budget and actuals
  • Other
    • Managing insurance policies and advising on possible optimizations

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level of thinking and working, preferably in Finance & Control, Business Economics, Accountancy or a comparable field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a financial role combining accounting and reporting (for example Controller or Assistant Controller)
  • Strong experience with monthly and annual closings, general ledger accounting and reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical skills: you can interpret figures, explain deviations and propose well-founded improvements
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems, preferably NetSuite
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into understandable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • A hands-on mindset: willing to both post and review bookings
  • Accurate and precise, even under pressure during closing periods
  • Reliable and integer, handling financial data with care
  • Calm and pragmatic under time pressure, able to switch quickly
  • A team player who easily bridges the gap between administration and management
